What type of Load Balancing does the Shared Load Balancer Support?

Shared Load Balancer

NaviSite's shared load balancer option includes a High Availability Citrix-based NetScaler load balancer, capable of high-throughput and scalability.

This option makes it simple and affordable to add a standard Load Balancer policy to your solution. We support the following types of Load Balancing:

Round Robin: As each request comes in it is assigned to one of the pre-defined servers.

Cookie insert persistence: When this persistence type is used, the NetScaler inserts information about where or which server the response came from as a part of Set-Cookie HTTP header. The client must return this cookie back in the Cookie HTTP header in order for this type of persistence to function. Thus the client/browser must have cookies enabled, accept cookies and send them back.

Source IP persistence: Where a client with a specific source IP is always sent to the same server. The NetScaler also supports an advanced persistence method for clients that have cookies turned off (for example, i-mode and some other wireless clients have this requirement).
